  2.                               ASTROLOGY PROGRAMS

  4.   This section is dedicated to the late Andy Osborne.   Andy died suddenly  in
  5.   February  1991.   He was responsible with Danielle Le Marais  for  producing
  6.   almost all the programs in this section.  His dedication to the ST community
  7.   and  the Public Domain,  Shareware and Licenseware concepts  were second  to
  8.   none.   Although  many programs on these disks offer  upgrades  and  printed
  9.   manuals for a nominal fee,  I would be grateful if you could disregard these
  10.   references  under the circumstances and instead make any donations  you  see
  11.   fit  to  the Asthma Foundation at the request of his mother.  It  should  be
  12.   noted that many (but not all) of these programs are restricted demos and  it
  13.   is  obviously impossible to obtain the full versions now.  For those of  you
  14.   who  are serious about astrology,  we recommend Budgie's Astrology  on  disk
  15.   BUDUTL.12C which is a complete comprehensive work by Andy and Danielle which
  16.   was finished shortly before his death.

  19.   AST.01   BURMESE - A Burmese Astrology program.  You must autoboot this disk
  20.   in order for the customised fonts to work.   CHINESE  -  A Chinese Astrology
  21.   program  designed  for  use  with Derek   Walters'  books.   FORECAST  -  An
  22.   extensive  program for producing lengthy horoscope texts.   A  useable  demo
  23.   which  only works for March-May 1991.   HOROACC - An ACC which will  produce
  24.   daily  horoscopes.   Saves your birth data to disk to avoid  re-typing  each
  25.   day.   Chinese  is colour only.  The others run in med or high  res.

  27.   AST.02  ASTRO 22 v1.3 - An extensive astrology program by D K Wilkinson.  On
  28.   this  disk is a starter program which accurately calculates the position  of
  29.   the planets,  cusps and zodiac positions to within 30 seconds of arc. Add on
  30.   modules  are already available direct from the author.  Has the  ability  to
  31.   calculate natal charts. For professional and amateur astrologers alike. This
  32.   is  a later version of the program on UTL.285.  Containing both  colour  and
  33.   mono versions of the program.

  35.   AST.5610   ASTROLOG  V5.20  by Walter Pullen - The ST version  of  a  cross-
  36.   platform  astrology program.  This package is very comprehensive to say  the
  37.   least.  It  calculates  the  positions of the planets  on  any  given  date,
  38.   computes ephemeris tables,  biorhythm charts, relationship charts and astro-
  39.   graph charts (all charts can be saved in graphic format).  It uses positions
  40.   of over 40 fixed stars,  over 170 Arabian parts and their formulae, tropical
  41.   and sidereal zodiac and much more.  This is not a 'fortune telling' program,
  42.   but  a  scientific  approach  to the entire  subject  of  astrology  from  a
  43.   mathematical and scientific perspective.  Astrolog is extensively documented
  44.   but  not really intended for the novice due to the fact that it  is  command
  45.   driven rather than GEM based (although the Help file can be called up at any
  46.   time). Needs 1 Mb.

  48.   UTL.284  CONVERTS  -  Enables data files to  be  created  from  astrological
  49.   programs  written  by Oracle Consultations.   DOMINOES - Uses  dominoes  for
  50.   divining.   MIDPOINTS - Examines the sensitive points of the  horoscope   in
  51.   between  two  planets based on the research of Ebertins.   MINOR  ASPECTS  -
  52.   calculates  the lesser used but equally important minor aspects  of  Western
  53.   Astrology.    FIXED  STARS  -  Takes  into account all  73  fixed  stars  in
  54.   horoscopes, as in Chinese astrology.  HARMONICS - Taken from Hindu astrology
  55.   and based on research by John Addey.   I-CHING - An update of the program on
  56.   UTL.233.  Answer  questions  using  the ancient  Chinese  way  of  divining.
  57.   CONVERT - Allows you to create your own data for use with astrology programs
  58.   written by Oracle Consultations.   ASTROTUT - A tutorial program which takes
  59.   you through the basics of astrology.  Programs  by  Andy  Osborne.

  61.   UTL.285  ARABIAN PARTS - Works out about fifty of the most common parts used
  62.   in Arabian astrology.   ASTROLOGY 1 - A comprehensive program covering  most
  63.   aspects of Western astrology (including the ability to create natal charts).
  64.   ASTROPIX  -  Six birthcharts for famous people (in PC2  format)  which  were
  65.   calculated  using  Astrology 1.   AZTEC - Converts  dates from  the  Western
  66.   calendar to the Aztec calendar and gives limited interpretation.   DECANATES
  67.   -  Calculates  a natal chart and its decanates from a data file  created  by
  68.   Convert  (also  on  the disk with some sample  data  files).  Decanates  are
  69.   divisions of traditional zodiac signs which show how typical you are of your
  70.   sign.   BIORHYTHMS  - An update to the program on UTL.227.  This version  is
  71.   fully  functional with the exception that  it  cannot print out and that  it
  72.   only gives charts for 1991.   ASTRO_22 - A starter program which  accurately
  73.   calculates the position of the planets, cusps and zodiac positions to within
  74.   30 seconds of arc.  This is an earlier version of the programs on AST.02 and
  75.   is  mono  only.   The other programs are colour only.  Astro_22 is  by  D  K
  76.   Wilkinson, the others are by Andy  Osborne.
